At the heart of Icon Medical is Dr. Josephine Olsen, whose medical training and professional trajectory shape the practice's unique clinical environment. As a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, Dr. Olsen received rigorous training that mirrors standard allopathic (MD) medical education but includes a distinct emphasis on holistic care, preventive medicine, and Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment (OMT). This foundation allows her to evaluate patients through a wide lenses, looking beyond isolated symptoms to understand how musculoskeletal alignment, lifestyle factors, environmental stressors, and metabolic health interact.

Dr. Charlie Liott, DC

Chiropractor

Dr. Liott is a Chiropractic Physician who began his practice in Sarasota, Florida in 1982. Following an extensive externship in the Palmer Diagnostic Center with additional training in Radiology and Physical therapy, Dr. Liott has over 30 years of experience.

He has dealt extensively with head, back and neck injuries. He completed a three year postgraduate neurology course and is a Board Certified Chiropractic Neurologist.

Our Story

Driven by a desire to practice medicine without the artificial constraints imposed by insurance networks and 15-minute appointment windows, Dr. Olsen established Icon Medical. Her vision was to create a sanctuary for patient care where complex medical histories could be thoroughly unraveled, and long-term health optimization could be carefully planned and executed.

In addition to her role as a primary care concierge physician, Dr. Olsen is a highly sought-after Class 1 Aviation Medical Examiner. This designation, awarded by the FAA, authorizes her to perform the highest class of medical certifications required for commercial airline pilots. Her deep understanding of aerospace medicine, combined with her osteopathic background, makes her a trusted advisor to pilots navigating complex medical clearances, special issuances, and deferral mitigations.
